Description
Krustpils castle mentioned in chronicles for the first time in 1237. From the 13th century to the 16th century the castle was one of three castles owned by the archbishop of Riga. During the time from 1585 to 1919 Krustpils castle was the property of the baron fon Korff family. After the World War I the architectural monument has been used for military purposes for 70 years. In 1994 the castle was given to the Jekabpils History Museum. Krustpils castle is a national and archeological heritage. Museum offers: • Group tours and guided audio tours for individual visitors in Latvian, Russian, English and German; • Educational programs. Exhibitions. The view from the tower.
