The manor house designedprobably by Archibald MacPherson under the influence the Arts and Crafts movement, was extraordinary in terms of architecture and technology: it had electricity, running water, central heating and a telephone taken care service. The garden was taken care by the renowned Riga city gardener Georg Kuphaldt, who designed it into a spacious park. The arterial paths – long and frequent tree-lined avenues – lead to the ponds and 29 manor buildings. The buildings of the Olustvere manor ensemble have survived and are unique in the Baltics.Nowadays Olustvere Basic School and Olustvere Service and Rural Management School operate on the grounds.
