Built in 1515, Baron Berndt van Kersenbrock Ilzenberg's Manor has been given a second lease of life. It is a mid19th century manor house in the claccisism style with authentic 18th century basements. This is the only location in the Baltic states containing a farm that uses natural farming principles to produce over 100 different food products. Walking through the 14 hectares of the park, you will find that it blends in perfectly with the surrounding countryside. These views include interconnected ponds, restored shady alleys, not to mention a five hundred year old standing historical oaktree, and the long lake with its so-called 'love islands'. This lake marks the border with Lithuania's neighbour, Latvia and one of these love islands is connected to the gardens by a graceful bridge.
